The “Green Machine” is now preserved at Travel Town in Griffith Park. 1543 was the only “Blimp” to get the MTA paint job.
With new sheet metal above the windows and the green paint; not a bad looking car. As kids we waited all day on more than a few Saturdays just to ride it. Finally we got our one ride on 1543. . . .
