Here’s a wonderful short film by Matthew Arnold-Ladensack entitled “LA 1:87” and featuring the fine HO scale modeling of iconic LA landmarks by 81-year-old Gerald W. Cox.

I’ve watched the video about a dozen times and it seems to me Mr. Cox is in the national treasure category, as the Japanese think of it. The variety and virtuosity of the techniques displayed are what impressed me the most. Am guessing many of the facades are ensembles of cast elements. Just how he managed making the facade panels for the Warner theater or the figures atop the Richfield Building would be subject enough for a master’s class.
