This PE freight train has just left Butte Street Yard and is headed westbound on the Air Line toward Santa Monica. This portion of the Air Line was not utilized for the route of the new Expo Line althought many parts of the eastern portion of the right of way are still vacant after the Southern Pacific gave up freight service on this line in 1989.
