Car 405 has just passed the home signal governing outbound, (southward) trains on the main track at PE’s Amoco interlocking.
At the extreme left in the photo may be seen, just a sliver, of the unique, rounded facade of a building at the corner of Long Beach Ave and
22nd Street–still standing while all else has has radically changed–except there’s still a rail presence in the form of LA Metro’s Blue Line,
which will leave this former four-track right of way a few blocks north at Washington Blvd.
