This is a Ken Kidder model of a Cincinatti & Lake Erie 635 series Box Motor from the late 1960s. Several of these Box Motors came to California, some to CCT and some to PE, after the C&LE quit. Another couple ended up on the Tulsa-Sapulpa Union RR in Tulsa OK.

PE never operated the three C&LE box motors they purchased, they sat unused at Torrance.

These Kidder models have large motor which powers both trucks, and they can pull a good load.

Looking for a roster of Ken Kidder Railway Models. Specific items are 4-wheel brass HO passenger cars #4020, #4021, and $4022. Items are very utilitarian in design and manufacture. Couplers are loop and prong – (not pin and link) more like something found on a Marx set or pre-WWII Lionel. Need some idea of current mkt prices (BRASSTRAINS.COM has NO listings.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

Double take..some well placed commas would clarify that the model is from the late ’60’s, not the prototype cars.
