    There’s a photo showing 1501 in Arcadia in 1942. My guess is that it was brought in to work the SP Duarte Branch after it was abandoned between Alhambra and Arcadia, and turned over to PE. Arrival of GE 44-ton center cab diesels 1650 and 1651 meant that these oddball units could finally be retired in 1943.
