The headlight appears to have a World War II “blackout” shade on the headlight, dating the photo to 1942 or ?. Not sure when the concern over enemy bombers was ended.

The coupler between the footboards on 1459 appear to have no room to swing left or right. I would’ve liked to have observed 1459 and wood box motor 1451 (after footboards were intalled on it) making a turn while coupled to another railcar. I think that would’ve been interesting.
