HCP090202 – 9/2/55 – San Dimas, Cal.: A fireman attempts to save the Pacific Electric rail station here (9/1) as flames from a 115 acre brush fire spread across a wide area. The flames destroyed 15 homes, several chicken ranches, and a number of smaller buildings, and was reported still out of control. UNITED PRESS TELEPHOTO.

    The fire occurred during very hot weather. My dad was on the fire. The San Dimas Historical Society has some addition photos and newspaper articles in their archives. You might want to check them out.
