Alternate Title?-“In the Midst of Death/Local Undertaker Gets Big Contract!!” Nice display of barn burner kerosene lanterns, like candles in a mortuary.

At least this removal project used real “bridge cranes”. When the Monrovia street running rails were pulled out of Olive Ave. in 1952, a process I watched from the playground at Monroe School. the machines used were “home-brew” contraptions that would have probably sent an OSHA inspector running off, screaming in horror. Alan Weeks got photos of these mechanical monsters which are probably in the Monrovia section.

The truncated bridge of the Castle Green extension (note the tower) from the long gone original hotel building is visible on the left just beyond the Central Park area. Anyone know more about these building here?
