Used to live near what used to be the station on Fountain Avenue. It was a small convenience store by that time.
Hollywood car 5153 appears in “While the City Sleeps” (1956). Dana Andrews chases the “Lipstick Killer” (John Drew Barrymore) down through a New York-style subway entrance (on the RKO backlot) to the tracks below. It’s the Hollywood Subway (Belmont Tunnel)! A trains of Hollywood cars pulls away from the two men as they reach a platform, and short trains rumble past their running and struggling figures. Plenty of trackwork appears. All the cars have empty destination signs, and car 5153 has a nice, long cameo.
