Co-sponsored by El Pueblo de Los Angeles and the Mount Lowe Preservation Society, featuring images from the Pacific Electric Railway Historical Society Collection.
Guest curators Michael Patris and Steve Crise share some amazing images from the downtown Los Angeles area, accompanied by some modern images shot by Crise to illustrate a “then and now” look at how our public transportation has evolved. Once abandoned rail lines are still Metro lines in many places, and the best part is, you can take Metro to Union Station and walk across the street to see the show!
Many will note Patris and Crise co-authored Pacific Electric Railway, Then and Now for Arcadia Publishing in 2011 and have guest curated many shows over the past several years. The Mount Lowe Preservation Society collection is an amazing resource for Southern California transportation images, many of which will be shared for the first time in this display.
