Mount Lowe: Then & Now
by Steve Crise and Michael Patris
Steve Crise and Michael Patris have authored a terrific new book for Arcadia Publishing Co.'s 'Then & Now' series on Mount Lowe. The nearly all-picture, 96-page book features images of the Mount Lowe line and contemporary shots taken from the exact same angles and perspectives. Since Mount Lowe Railway’s abandonment in 1936, millions of hikers, mountain bikers, and railfans have followed the long-deserted rail beds to glimpse the scenic grandeur of what was once the “Earth’s Grandest Mountain Ride.” Now, readers can enjoy local history and fabulous vistas without the effort of a day’s hike. To order the book, simply click here and visit Arcadia Publishing's website. The book is priced at $21.99 plus shipping.
