Going from LGB to Pedro we would pass National Metals and we were always so sad to see the old Red and Yellow cars stacks getting higher and higher. As a kid we could get on the Red Car at PCH and American ride into LA Main and walk over to Hill and catch the Hollywood car out of the subway to La Brea and my Grandma’s place, The Canary Shop near Fountain just across from the Chaplain Studios [A&M Records]. Great times and great way to tavel around the basin.
Looks like some of the cars, especially those on the bottom of the stack, have had their whistles removed.
