Mount Lowe Railway Golden Spike Tie Pin

The 1893 Golden Spike tie pin given to Thaddeus Lowe by his workers upon the opening of the Mount Lowe Incline Railway, July 4, 1893. This was one of Lowe’s prized possessions and comes via the estate of Thaddeus Lowe, Jr., and gifted to the Mount Lowe Preservation Society by Lowe’s heirs.
