Off in the Distance
A Pacific Electric interurban can be seen far in the distance in a shot otherwise dominated by 1930s-era vehicles, foretelling the future of Southern California.

If I am not mistaken this is now O’Donnell Chevrolet Buick at the intersection of Las Tunas and San Gabriel. The showroom survives, albeit heavily cladded with visual updates done only recently.
I live just two or three miles from here, and have never seen a photo of this section of PE. This would be the extension to Temple City, which opened in 1924. This was the last extension in the Northern District, where some of the Pasadena local lines had already been abandoned. The San Gabriel line previously ended about where the photographer is standing. There’s a photo looking in that direction that shows the steeple of a church that’s between San Gabriel Blvd. and the Country Club; the tracks are long gone, but the church is still active.
