It's December of 1962 and a fan trip featuring MTA PCC no. 3001 is underway. Note the fan-applied "for sale" sign on the nose of the unit.

It's 1958 at the Terminal Island scrapyard where Los Angeles Transit Lines (and in this shot, Southern Pacific) units go to die an inglorious death. Three LATL (ex-Los Angeles Railway) units sit atop one another while being framed by former SP heavyweight cars.

Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority PCC car no. 3022 rolls through heavy Los Angeles traffic in April of 1963 with a "Not In Service" destination sign. Just look at the condition of that street - unbelievable! The image may have been captured from the front window of another passing PCC; note the shadow on the street and the perspective right over the rail, and the reaction of the couple in the root beer-brown Chevy.

Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority (ex-Los Angeles Transit Lines) PCCs nos. 3094 and 3148 pause at a turnaround probably as part of a fan trip as abandonment approached. The image is dated March 1963. Note the differences between the two PCC units, quite visible in this side-by-side image.
