Actually the camera is facing Northeast, and the car is going Southwest, which is outbound, after going West on Hollywood Boulevard, and about to continue West on Santa Monica.
It is indeed a new parking lot now, although the first few blocks of the right of way Southwest of Hollywood Boulevard, and crossing Sunset is still clearly visible as a diagonal alley.
Fairfax runs North and South, and its a 5050, not a PCC, but still a good pic!
This is a wonderful trip down memory lane, riding the red car 3 times a week, making that N turn toward Sunset then through Gardner to go to Hollywood,,10 cents a ride,Thank you so much for posting this piece of West Hollywood History.
