Pacific Electric interurban no. 1100 bound for Santa Ana bears an advertisement for Azusa Golden Days and a full complement of passengers, likely a fan trip.

This was a fan trip (note all the people in the forward vestibule). Azusa Golden Days would be appropriate for 1100’s “natural habitat”, the Northern District.

I cannot imagine riding and enjoying a fan trip where a rail car is packed like sardines. I can understand rush hour trains running this way, that’s the norm. But, fan trips?! No way!!! Not for me!!! I like the photo of this PE “Eleven” steel interurban coach. Nice capture.

Note also that the car was fitted with wheel-type trolley poles, indicating that the wire greaser no longer came out this far (it probably worked only to Bellflower after regular passenger service to Santa Ana quit.) Another possibility for the use of wheel trolleys would be if it also went to Newport Beach.
