1815 and 498 at the Catalina Terminal

Both of these cars still exist at Orange Empire: 1815 has reverted to its original number of 717 and its original (pre-1938) paint job, and is running better than is has in 50 years after a mechanical overhaul. 498 is undergoing extensive body work and repairs of its air brake system.
Got up in the dark one morning and my mom and dad walked Adams and west blvd where we caught an Lary A car to 6th & hill. Walked to Pery terminal on main st and took the Catalina limited. I remember lumbering out of the elevated terminal and slowly getting over to the 4 track. Then I was in heaven as the motorman pulled out all the stops and leaned on that unforgettable horn. Also remember seeing the watts towers. What a ride–I do not remember any stops until we got to the boat.
