    This PE train is crossing W. 5th Street in Santa Ana.

    Note that 1240 does not have the “Daylight orange” stripe on the side, and 1214 does. 1214 was a San Bernadino Twelve, and the stripe and lack of a restroom window indicates that the photo was taken after 1942. And no “blackout shade” on the headlight would probably mean 1944 or later.
