Pacific Electric interurban no. 1034 passes through a South Bay S curve on its way to San Pedro. The destination sign reads "San Pedro via West Basin."

    This photo seems to be looking north somewhat; the water tower was on the north side of the sawtooth roofline building. That would put the harbor to the right of the photo and San Pedro to the left.

    I’ve always loved to see how a train cants into a turn. And I often wondered how the train didn’t tip over. I guess the undercarriages being much heavier than the carbodies prevents the train from tipping over.
