This yard was on South Fair Oaks Ave. Just South of Glenarm St. The
date was around 1939 I believe. The Birneys were abandoned in 1940
    The photographer was looking East.

The Birneys lasted until 1941, but some were sold off in 1940. Three that were sold in that year went to MGM Studios in Culver City, where the served as “props”. Two of them survived into the 1960’s, when they went to Orange Empire, where they are preserved in running condition. Just south of the scene in this photo is the PE Pasadena substation, which is preserved as a storage building and workshop by the City of Pasadena.
