PE used to refer to Monterey Ave. in Monrovia as “Ninth Ave.” . This would be numbering from downtown Arcadia, since the next stop going westward was Fifth Ave., where I lived. The right of way made some rather tight turns east of Monterey, where the line went from the Olive Ave. street running to a straight segment of private right of way that’s now a park. This winding stretch led to the fairly straight section from Monterey to the Santa Fe crossing in Arcadia. Special insulators were used on the curvy section for the heavy feeder cables.
