Pacific Electric interurban no. 1148 passes through a grade crossing on the way from Pasadena via Oak Knoll.

This is actually on the way FROM Pasadena southbound toward San Marino, just passing the Huntington Hotel, formerly the Ritz Carleton, now the Langham.
And before that, The Hotel Wentworth
I believe this train is exiting the driveway of my home on South Oak Knoll, before the house was built in the late 1940’s. Is there any way to buy a copy of this photograph?

The private right-of-way east of Oak Knoll Ave. is still there–I think it’s used as a path for water mains.
Bob, my home is at the top of a “knoll” about 50 feet above street level. There is a flat area cut into the slope and hidden from the entrance to the house and the street. I was told that the original homeowner built an orchid hot house there, and there are concrete footings in this location. I believe that the footings may have been the part of the original rail bed. The Alhambra reservoir is directly south, and that was probably the rail path from the south. I hope this description makes sense.
