A four-interurban train (led by Pacific Electric no. 1214) moves down the middle of a busy Garey Boulevard in Pomona, crossing the main lines of the Southern Pacific and Los Angeles & Salt Lake (Union Pacific). The LA&SL Pomona depot (now demolished) is visible in the background at left.

    LA&SL Pomona?

This picture from the late 1930’s is in Donald Duke’s PE Eastern District book, page 17. The four-car train to Los Angeles is going north on Garey Avenue in Pomona, crossing the parallel mainlines of the Southern Pacific and the Los Angeles & Salt Lake (UP) railroads. LA&SL Pomona depot is seen on the left. Today that depot and the interurban tracks are long gone, and Garey Avenue now burrows under the busy tracks of a giant post-merger Union Pacific Railroad.
