The former Pacific Electric 6th and Main platform and trackage is disassembled in this bittersweet image. It is believed this is a crew from the Orange Empire Trolley Museum dismantling a double slip switch for use at the Perris museum. “Feldman Co.” and Downtown Ford loom on either side of the viaduct in the background.

Hard to tell for sure from the photo, but some of those workers look familiar. I wasn’t in on that part of the removal project, but I probably helped in installing it at (what was then) OETM. Going northeast from present location of the “puzzle switch” is the lead to Barn 2 (Walter Abbenseth Car House); near the end of this track is the switch leading to the barn tracks. This second switch reportedly came from one of the yards in Long Beach, leading to comments that we’ve rebuilt the PE Long Beach Line at OERM, just shortened it to fit the space available.
