Alan Weeks’ Then and Now: Part 2

By Alan Weeks

Just think of the amazing changes we would see if we could come back in 100 years. These changes are constantly going on around us but slow enough that we don’t notice.

It is strange that I have found that from the very beginning when I started taking pictures our minds also take a picture the same as the camera sees. When I look at my sixty-year-old pictures it still seems very fresh in my minds eye. It then brings back other memories of the surrounding area — not just the picture.

Great Pictures! I grew up in the Placentia/Yorba Linda area, and of course the PE tracks ran on the south side of Imperial Highway from Brea to Yorba Linda. It’d be great to see some of these Then & Now pictures of that area. Thanks again, and keep the pictures coming in!

I’m so very thankful for this site! My great grandfather and his one of his family members worked for P.E.Railway from the 1920’s until the late 1940s. As I do family research, I’m more and more fascinated by the Pacific Electric. Thank you for keeping the history alive!
