Although I only know LATL from the historical photos and maps, I’ve always thought it was clever how many of the lines had letters to match the streets they ran on (e.g., “P” on Pico Blvd). The prize went to “V” on Vernon and Vermont. This tradition has been transferred to San Francisco, where their newest rail line is the “T” on Third St. (their older line designations are alphabetical by date of opening)
