Here’s a view of the Los Angeles Transit Lines (ex-Los Angeles Railway) Division 5 Car House, captured from the north end of the property on December 20, 1954.

One memory I have from World War Two (when I was a toddler) was my father taking a slight detour on the way home from food shopping. Since I had an interest in streetcars, we would drive past the back end of Division 5 where the LARY had a large number of out of service streetcars stored. Probably all were Huntington Standards and I recall most, if not all, had the brown and yellow colors. I suspect these cars were not scrapped for their metal (needed during the war) since they were largely of wood construction, and LARY may have thought these cars might be needed if more passenger capacity were needed in the future.
