    At 7th and Broadway, the LARY safety zones were distinguished by being on raised platforms as you can see in this photo. I assume the platform was raised either to speed loading and unloading from the cars or to provide an increased degree of safety for passengers at this busy intersection. The only other raised platform I know of on LARY was on the D line at 6th and St. Paul streets as shown in another photo in this collection.

    I hate to say it, but those safety zones dont look very safe.
