One interesting thing to note in this photo is that these four cars are parked on a siding, the siding is a third track located to the south of the tracks used for the regular car service. This siding was on Santa Barbara Ave (now King Blvd) just west of Vermont. Sidings were rare on LARY/LATL, and I know of no others outside of those at turnback points (such as the 10th Ave turnback loop on the J line).

You will note there are PCC cars on this siding on Santa Barbara Avenue. In order for the PCC cars to get to this location they had to travel outside of the normal PCC territory. I was raised on Second Avenue just one block north of Division Five. I believe the PCC cars came outbound on the 9 line then diverged onto southbound Second Avenue, then westbound on 54th Street in order to connect with the inbound 5 line. It was either that or pick up the 8 line in downtown L.A. and travel that route all the way to connect with the 5 line at 54th Street and Crenshaw Blvd.
