Pacific Electric interurban no. 369 from Long Beach arrives inside the terminal at the base of the Pacific Electric headquarters in downtown Los Angeles. Number 304 from Pasadena is at the right, while at the extreme left is signage for Mount Lowe. In the early years of the Pacific Electric, all trains enterend the terminal off Main Street, pulled up, unloaded, moved to the crossovers, reloaded, and exited. There soon became a huge back-up of interurban cars on Main Street. -  Caption by Donald Duke, from the book Pacific Electric Railway Volume Three - The Southern District. Also note the rather interesting device mounted tot he ceiling of the station. This is an automatic trolley pole reversing system that changed the direction of the trolley poles as the cars went through the crossovers.
